Part D Prescription Drug Plan:
You can save money by comparing Prescription Drug Plans annually from October 15 to Dec 7. Since new medications are approved by the FDA, your plan’s formulary (a list of drugs covered by your Prescription Drug Plan) is updated annually.
In general, once you have enrolled into a Part D drug plan, you will keep the same plan from January 1 to December 31. Depending on your income, you may get Extra Help to pay for your prescription co-pays, and deductibles.
You also want to know which pharmacies are considered preferred pharmacies and which are standard pharmacies. You may pay different prices for your medications at different pharmacies.
